Metropolitan Mistakes

John Goodman’s peaceful life as a wheat farmer in the ancient village of Z’dole is turned upside down when tragedy strikes the village.  Despite his family’s reassurances that he was not at fault, John decides to leave the past behind and start over in the modern city of Alahara, a place very different from the village where ancient traditions continue to be practiced.

Upon arriving in the city, John quickly realizes that starting over in the city will be harder than he realized. Fortunately, there is a former villager, Miranda, who resides in the city with her young daughter, Zoe. Miranda works as a guide to help newcomers learn the ways of the city. With Miranda’s help, John’s goal of starting over now seems possible. Just as he begins to look forward to a bright future, hopefully one with Miranda and her daughter in it, something equally surprising and terrifying happens to both John and Miranda that will once again change the course of John’s life. Now the village demands that not only John but also Miranda return. But will they ignore Z’dole’s Elder Council and remain in the city, or will they be able to face the past and help protect the village against dark forces that threaten to destroy it?
