John Goodman is a wheat farmer in the ancient village of Z’dole. One day tragedy strikes, and John’s peaceful world is turned upside down. Soon afterwards John decides to leave the pain of the past behind by starting over in the modern city of Alahara. Now alone and lost in an unfamiliar world he must make a new life for himself. Fortunately, he meets Miranda, a former villager, who helps guide him through the strange ways of the city. But just when John begins to realize a new life for himself that hopefully includes Miranda, they make a surprising and terrifying discovery. Now the village demands that they both return. But will John and Miranda have the courage to return and face their past or will they ignore their duty and leave the village defenseless against the forces that are coming to claim it.
