Hello & Welcome!

Hello. Welcome to my website and first blog. I am so excited to share some of my personal and professional stories with you.

I live in the American South where it is very hot. I have three almost grown children and a very talkative tuxedo cat.

I started this writing journey a long time ago when I attempted to write a novel and quickly realized I was going to need a lot of help with this endeavor.  I did not get an English degree, nor did I focus on any type of professional writing while I was in college, so I knew I needed writing resources. I turned to books that offered writing advice. While these were great resources, I still needed a bit more help, so I turned to YouTube. I found many writers who taught about their craft, and I am eternally grateful for the information they passed on to their viewers. After several years of trying and trying to complete a novel, I finally finished one. Yay!

 But that wasn’t the last step. It felt more like the beginning of the journey. I realized that I couldn’t do all the work that was necessary to be a professional author on my own, so I started to look for people to help me. Fortunately, I found several and am extremely grateful for their support. People say it takes a village to raise a child. Well, it seems as if the same is true for books. It takes a village to publish a novel. It is interesting how much support our creations need before they go out into the world on their own.

I invite you, the reader, to continue the journey with me as I prepare my stories to be sent out into the world. I hope you find the highs and lows of the journey as interesting as I know I will. Thank you.
