Many people have a book that affected them in a meaningful way. Whether it is fiction or nonfiction books can have a big impact on our lives. For myself, fiction has given me a way to explore our world with fantastical settings and with unusual characters.
My first foray into the fantasy genre was when I found the book The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. I still remember where I first found it. It was at the bookstore in the mall. It was on the very bottom shelf. Perfect place for a small nine-year-old girl like me. After I read the first book, I read the second and the third etc. until I read all the books in The Chronicles of Narnia series. I was completely hooked on fantasy after that. I could often be found looking among the bookshelves of the library or bookstores searching for new worlds to escape into. As I grew older, I expanded the genres I enjoyed to include science fiction and mysteries. I also love biographies.
When I decided to write my first book, I returned to my first love of fantasy. I wrote a story about a world of my own making called Zestaron. I loved the world building and the characters in my story and creating it was intense but fun at the same time. I can’t wait for the day it will be published.
We all have our favorite books, and they are different for each of us. It is what makes writing such a wonderful profession. There is always room for more stories.
I hope you will enjoy the stories I create. Happy reading.
